Business Link To Wind Up In Near Future

Business Link, which is a government backed venture is set to be wound down by the end of 2011 in
order to conclude the closure of the regional centres from November.

As of the end of November, the various offices of Business Link as well as the services that they offer
will be wound up. In its place, a new call centre will be launched so that businesses will be able to
access the same assistance offered by the Business Link website. The website is also set to contain
new services and information such as e-training to help businesses continue with training as well as
improved linked to other government services.

Another new feature of the site is set to be the tax dashboard, which will allow businesses to view all
of their main tax liabilities in one place.

The main concern over the new plans for Business Link is that new businesses and contractors will
now find it harder to get access to information about starting up in business in the UK, which could
cause for many businesses to miss important steps in the setting up process.

The news of the Business Link offices wind up is also urging other businesses and organisations
across the country to launch their own ‘business hubs’ offering free advice and information to
contractors and small business about starting up business and all associated business information.
