Digital IT contractors remain in demand
JM Digital have released their latest report which shows that digital IT contractors are still very much in demand. It seems
that digital IT contractors are one of the most in demand contractors in the UK contracting market. There have been increases in demand in the financial sector who are looking to develop their businesses in the digital field.
Despite the economic downturn, IT contractors remain in demand due to their specialised expertise in social media and mobile technology. Specific skills such as these are rarely found in-house and hence businesses need to contract out in order to get what they need.
Many banks are now seeing the benefits in digital technology and want to get ahead of the game for the new financial year. Mobile sites and services are also rising significantly. There seems to be a lot of need for digital project managers, user experience architects and visual designers to name but a few.
The banks are even offering to pay 25% more than the digital agencies in order to get the best and right contractors for the jobs. The CEO of the JM Group, David Pye, has said, “Banks have been able to attract digital IT contractors due to their ability to offer significantly more money and, in comparison to the consultancy sector, often better working hours. The high level of complexity with banking systems is also a key attractor for many candidates who like the challenge it offers them.”
So, if you are looking for a new and challenging digital IT contracting role then polish that CV and get your name out there. The ideal contractor role could be waiting for you!
