Social networking for new recruits
If you are a contractor, freelancer or consultant it may be that you are looking to expand your business. As the new year approaches, it could be the right time to recruit some new staff to help develop your business and manage your work load.
So with social networking taking over the world, or so it seems, can it help you with your recruitment process?
Social media sites, such as Facebook and LinkedIn are being used to share information from company to company. It is also the ideal place to check out new recruits or potential recruits for your company.
LinkedIn is a hub of company based activity and is growing at an incredible rate. If you are thinking about hiring someone or want to know more then it can be a good place to start. LinkedIn enables people to share testimonials about their work, almost like a reference. You can also find out where they have worked before. Much like a glorified CV.
Vetting
Many companies uses social media sites to vet prospective recruits to see what they get up to in their spare time. For those who have fast become social-media-smart a private public profile can be a good idea. This does not mean that your future employee has something to hide, it just means that they understand the nature of social media sites.
Tweet, tweet
If you are thinking of recruiting someone you can use your Facebook and Twitter accounts to get the message out there. That way you are recruiting within the field of people you know.
So why not utilise the tools that you have around you? That way you can save time and money!
